Job Description:
Lead the system operations function to provide world-class service to Cashedge clients.
Cashedge is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that provides online financial applications for banks, credit unions and wealth management firms. This position leads all aspects of daily operations for a 24x7 business: data center operations (includes production, disaster recovery and development data center sites), systems administration, data base administration and network management activities required to manage performance, capacity, availability and security requirements of CashEdge operations. This is a roll up your sleeves/hands-on position, which requires an expert level knowledge and experience of database, storage, networking and operating systems.
The working environment is fast-paced, demanding and results oriented.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the production, disaster recovery and development data centers for 24x7 operations.
• Implement the processes necessary to achieve a 99.5% SLA for our clients with the goal to achieve a 99.9% SLA within 12 months.
• Manage a team of systems, database and network administrators (8-12 people).
• Identify and implement critical metrics necessary to manage and monitor the performance of overall operations: performance, capacity, availability, etc.
• Lead the definition, implementation, training and documentation of processes and procedures necessary to execute the business within service levels commitments to our clients. Including: incident reporting and tracking/resolution,
• Define the strategy, architecture, policies, procedures, and standards related to performance, capacity, availability, continuity, and security.
• Participate in the development, testing and execution of the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan.
Manage the installation, configuration and maintenance of all production hardware, equipment, software and services.
• Manage the maintenance and configuration management lifecycles for all related resources. ?Conduct product, vendor, and technology evaluations to determine interface compatibility with existing systems and evolving standards and make appropriate recommendations.
• Work closely with the Development, Release Management, and Professional Services teams to coordinate activities and maintain systems/operations.
Skills/Experience:
• Ability to develop and communicate relevant department metrics, SLA and performance reports to executive management.
• Experience running a 24x7 operation with uptime requirements.
Experience with capacity planning, utilization review and performance monitoring.
• Experience in managing small teams with expert knowledge of networking protocols and equipment (Cisco preferred), web and application servers (Apache and WebLogic?prefered), database management (Oracle preferred), storage solution systems, and Unix operating systems.
• Proven track record with eight+ years in production/operations management and three+ years’ management experience.
BS degree in a related technical field.
• Excellent team management and leadership skills, customer/business support experience with highly technical, engineering-oriented organizations/environments.
• Strong background in gathering system requirements, as well as modeling and completing detailed system design proposals.
• Solid project management skills with experience managing large, complex projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent team player and able to work with virtual and global cross-functional teams to seek innovative solutions.
• Ability to work with deadlines and in a very fast paced environment.
