Operations Manager

Job Description:
Lead the system operations function to provide world-class service to Cashedge US Banking clients.  

Cashedge is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that provides online financial applications for banks, credit unions and wealth management firms. This position leads the following aspects of daily operations for a 24x7 business: systems administration, data base administration and change management activities required to manage performance, capacity, availability and security requirements of CashEdge operations.  This is a roll up your sleeves/hands-on position, which requires an expert level knowledge and experience of software as a service product delivery, database, storage, networking and operating systems.

 

The working environment is fast-paced, demanding and results oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the US Banking Business Unit, Development, Release Management, and Professional Services teams to coordinate activities and maintain systems/operations.
  • Implement the processes necessary to achieve a 99.9% SLA for our clients.
  • Manage a team of systems and database administrators (2-4 people).
  • Identify and implement critical metrics necessary to manage and monitor the performance of overall operations: performance, capacity, availability, etc.
  • Lead the definition, implementation, training and documentation of processes and procedures necessary to execute the business within service levels commitments to our clients. Including:  incident reporting and tracking/resolution.
  • Define the strategy, architecture, policies, procedures, and standards related to performance, capacity, availability, continuity, and security.
  • Participate in the development, testing and execution of the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Ability to develop and communicate relevant metrics, SLA and performance reports to executive management.
  • Experience running a 24x7 operation with uptime requirements.  
  • Experience with capacity planning, utilization review and performance monitoring.
  • Experience in managing small teams with expert knowledge of web and application servers (Apache and WebLogic), database management (Oracle), storage solution systems, and Unix operating systems.  
  • Experience in managing and maintaining customer facing, production systems
  • Experience in working in ASP or SaaS environments
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in at least 3 of the following areas: Linux Operating System, Oracle Relational Database Management System, Oracle Middleware, Oracle Business Intelligence, Citrix NetScaler Appliance
  • Proven track record with seven+ years in system operations and four+ years’ management experience.
  • BS degree in a related technical field.  
  • Excellent team management and leadership skills, customer/business support experience with highly technical, engineering-oriented organizations/environments.
  • Strong background in gathering system requirements, as well as modeling and completing detailed system design proposals.
  • Solid project management skills with experience managing large, complex projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent team player and able to work with virtual and global cross-functional teams to seek innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and in a very fast paced environment.
